Speaking of growing up so fast. I saw this on Beverly's blog, at A Baby? Maybe... It is a video of Darius Rucker from Hootie & the Blowfish singing a It won't be like this for long. I have heard it many times, but never really listened to the words. It just reminds me of Cooper & Hadley & how they won't be small for long. I am going to cherish every moment with them no matter how hard it may seem at the time cause that phase won't last long!!! Happy 38 Years & 31w4d appt

First of all, I would like to wish my parents a Happy 38th Anniversary!! I am so happy for you two!! The Edwards & Michael & I took them to dinner at Rolando's tonight...it was yummy!! Shimeks, we missed you all...wish you guys lived in FS!!

Secondly, I had my 31w4d appointment today. Everything is still going good...great blood pressure, no protein, & I am measuring 40 weeks. I was a little concerned about some contractions that happened sporadically throughout the day yesterday, but I talked with him about it & he said that was quite normal at this point. He said when they become like 4-6 within an hour, I need to be calling him. My swelling is alot better & the babies heartbeats sounded great!! I go back in 3 weeks (Dec 11) for another ultrasound & appointment. All is well!!

And last, we rearranged the nursery tonight. What do you think? Do the cribs look okay arranged like this?? I think I am liking it better than the other way!

Surprise Shower 11-17-08

Never in my life has anyone ever really surprised me. Sure I have gotten a few gifts that I didn't know about here & there, but nothing big! My parents tried to surprise me with a car for my 16th birthday & I found out about it & no one has ever thrown me a surprise party for any reason....UNTIL LAST NIGHT...a total surprise to Michael & I both!! For those of you that don't know, we live right outside of the city limits & are in a volunteer fire district. Michael has volunteered for the fire department since we moved out here in 2005 & absolutely loves it! I have to brag a little bit: his first year on the department, he was nominated & won 'Firefighter of the Year'! What an accomplishment!! They have meetings every other Monday and last night was one of their meetings. He left like normal & my parents called to see if I would like to go get ice cream with them since Michael wasn't going to be home...how can a pregnant girl pass up some ice cream, so off we went to Braum's, or so I thought! Let me just say, I did nothing yesterday except lay on the couch & sleep, so that means I had on no makeup & looked like I just crawled out of bed!!! I did throw on some jeans & a hat because I figured we would go in to get ice cream, but I looked horrible! Michael called right as we were walking out of the house to see if I could drop off a set of keys to the fire department on our way (which is right down the street from our house). I was hesitant because I didn't want to walk in their meeting looking like I looked. He assured me he would be right inside the door to get the keys! WRONG... I opened the door to cameras & people yelling surprise!!! Can you say total humiliation??? Michael had been surprised too & knew I was going to be embarrassed about the way I looked, but what could he have done at that point?? It was wonderful! All the members of the fire department & their husbands & wives were all there to celebrate Cooper & Hadley! We got showered again with some wonderful gifts & great food! They had the cutest games & decorations!! Thank you so much White Bluff/Rye Hill Fire Department...you guys are awesome & you got us good!!!

31 weeks

Today I hit the 31 week mark! WOW!! The smallest things are wearing me out! I am making it though! My two boys got back this afternoon from the deer woods! I don't think either one of them missed me much, but I sure missed them! The house has been so quite (& cold) without them here. I thought I was doing something wrong with the heat all week cause I froze to death! Michael looked at it when he got home & our pilot light had gone out! Our house was 59 degrees this morning when I woke up! It is great to have Michael home to take care of me & keep me warm!

Can you tell I am loving Picnik?? It is the coolest thing!!!

Coming Home Gowns

I have picked out what the babies will be coming home from the hospital in! I love them...I had the bibs monogrammed with their initials & they are precious & so soft! These are something I will keep FOREVER!! Aren't they sweet??

Have any of you heard of Exposures magazine?? If not, you need to check it out!! My sister just called to tell me that Michael & I are on the cover and on the inside of the Christmas issue! I was stunned! Come to find out, photographers can send in pics & if they are chosen for the magazine, they get a credit! She had like 10 different pictures chosen & ours was one of them! How cool is that?? I can't wait to receive the actual magazine in the mail to see it in person!! This was our 2005 Christmas picture!

Nesting???

Since I have been home on maternity leave, I have had three goals to accomplish...the finish all my thank you notes, get a hospital bag packed, & to get the nursery organized! Thank you notes are not yet done & the hospital bag has nothing in it, but the nursery is almost organized! I feel like I am majorly nesting...once I get going on organizing, I can't stop! Although, I have had the worst sleep yet in this pregnancy the last two nights, I feel like I have made major improvements in the nursery! Michael has been in the deer woods since Friday & I think he will be really surprised when he gets back to see how much I have accomplished! By the way, he killed two deer on Sunday (a 5 point buck & a 8 point buck) & he was so excited! Our freezer will be well stocked really soon!! I was really hoping he would be home today, but it doesn't look like it! I am really missing him & Charlie! Hopefully, I can get the rest of my thank-you's written & hospital bag packed before they get home, so I can enjoy their company even more!!! 29w4d appointment

I had a dr's appt & ultrasound yesterday to see how things are going. The babies are doing great & growing so big! Cooper weighs approximately 3 lbs 7 ozs & Hadley is about 3 lbs 3 ozs. We weren't expecting them to be so big, but that was wonderful news! Wow...that is almost 7 lbs of baby in there already!! There is about a 7% difference in their size which the dr. said was great...the nurse said they get worried when the % difference is about 25%. The fluid around each baby looked great & my cervix is still very long. Both babies are head down...that explains all the kicks in my ribs lately! Can you imagine four little feet moving around all the time??? Like last time, we got some great pictures of Cooper, but Hadley didn't want to show us her face again. She was facing inwards towards Cooper (snuggling with him as the ultrasound tech said) & either his foot or the membrane in between them was in her face pretty much the entire time! I will say that Cooper looks just like his Daddy...the nose & the lips are so Michael! Who knows what Miss Hadley will come out looking like!! I can't wait to see! Here are a few ultrasound pics!!

And the only pic of Hadley we got. It is kind of hard to make out! She is facing the bottom left corner with a shadow on her forehead. It looks like she is going to have chubby cheeks!

As for me, I am measuring full term right now. Dr. Laws recommended I start my maternity leave immediately. He said with the swelling starting, my back hurting so bad, & with me being so big, I need to quit work & concentrate on taking care of these babies! My blood pressure was great, but I did have a little sugar in my urine. The nurse said that since I just passed my glucose test last month, they would keep a close eye on it to make sure it doesn't become a problem. I am looking forward to taking it easy & getting caught up on my rest before these babies get here! All in all a great report from the doctor!!

Baby Shower at Work 11-5-08

I had yet another wonderful baby shower today at my work. My coworkers threw a great shower today & I appreciate all of their hard work & generosity! I am so lucky to have such wonderful coworkers, friends, & family that have thrown me such wonderful showers! I never realized how much stuff you need when you have a baby...much less two babies!! Our house is shrinking by the second with all the stuff we are accumulating!! Here are some pics from today's shower!!!



We got many wonderful items including both of our swings!! I am so excited about them! Michael put them together tonight when we got home!!

Little Rock Baby Shower

This weekend my two college roommates, Liz & Miranda, threw me a baby shower with some of my college friends at 'Mimi's Cafe' in Little Rock. It was such a great day & I am so glad I got to see my old friends...it brought back so many great memories!!! Thank you all for coming to help me celebrate these sweet babies! Thank you Liz & Miranda for all your hard work to get this together!! You all are too sweet!!

Overall it was a great weekend with friends & family, but it was very hard on me. I'm not sure if it was the two & a half hour car or what, but this will be my last trip out of FS until the babies get here. My back hurt so badly & I was very uncomfortable all weekend. My swelling has increased & I haven't slept at all the past three nights. I am not sure how much longer I can continue to work all day! I have another appointment on Thursday and I plan on discussing how I have been feeling lately. We also have another 2 hr ultrasound...I am so ready to see the babies again!
