20 weeks

According to BabyCenter, this is what our babies are looking like at 20 weeks! Isn't that unbelievable? I still can't believe this pregnancy is going by so quickly! I have been feeling the babies move like crazy & loving every minute of it!!!

Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, speaking of the diaper situation... baby's genitals are now fully formed!

Happy 50th Birthday Cyndi!!!

I wanted to take a moment to wish my MIL, Cyndi a Happy 50th Birthday!!
I hope you had the best birthday yet & hope for many, many more!!
Here is a picture of her tonight with her beautiful roses!

My in-laws recently got back from a trip to Vegas! I wanted to show off what they got Michael & I (actually the babies) while they were there! She hit up the 'Juicy Couture' store while they were there. Look at this precious diaper bag!!

& these precious bibs, booties, pacifiers! I think she is betting on two boys...what do you think??? That is fine with me :)!!

I am kind of sad tonight. Michael is leaving me by myself for 10 days to go to Alaska. I am so excited for him, but I hate for him to be gone for that long. I get so bored by myself!! I just pray that they have a safe & fun trip!

19 weeks - Two Mangos

Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might actually get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature.

My day today...

Nothing much exciting happening these days, so nothing much to blog about! Just thought I would blog about my day today!!

Bright & early this morning, Michael & I were up to attend a CPR class that was given at his fire department. His certification was expiring soon, & I have been wanting to get certified for some time now. I was really interesting in the baby & infant section of the class, but you never know when someone might need CPR. It was actually interesting & I am glad we got up so early on a Saturday morning! Here is a picture of me as we were leaving...please excuse the sleepy eyes!!

We then came home for a couple of hours...I organized my study & then took a short cat nap. This evening, I went over to Teresa's house. Teresa has twin daughters & has been reading my blog & keeping up with our progress. She also used Dr. Prough in Tulsa & has the cutest little girls whom I got to meet! Look what I got at her house...
No, Teresa didn't send me home with all her laundry. These are all maternity clothes that her friend & her were getting ready to put in a garage sale!! I racked up on some fall clothes! Teresa, thank you so much for inviting Michael & I into your home. It was so nice to meet your sweet family!!

When we got home, my wonderful husband got busy in the kitchen! Wow...he is really impressing me lately with the stuff he is cooking. He really should have gone to culinary school!! I am usually not a fish person, but he bought some fresh trout & salmon at the seafood market the other day & has made two wonderful dinners the past two nights! Tonight's salmon was so pretty (& delicious) I just had to take a picture!! Check this out...

with salad & green beans...yum, yum!! Thanks Baby!!
Well, that's my day! I hope everyone else had a great Saturday too!!

18w1d belly picture

I feel huge...

We have movement....

I am pretty sure that I felt the babies move last night. Michael & I were laying in bed watching gymnastics on the Olympics & I felt a flutter on my left side. It felt like bubbles! It was an amazing feeling to feel life growing in my belly! It has been so surreal with all the ultrasounds I have had & to see the babies moving so much, yet not being able to feel them. I am so excited to finally feel movement!

Half way there!!!

Can you believe it? Today I am at the half way mark of an average twin pregnancy....36 weeks is average & I am 18 weeks pregnant! It is hard to believe! I am still feeling good & am so thankful for that!! I wanted to share a few pictures from Fridays ultrasound.

We definately have at least one baby boy in there!!

In this one, Baby B is on the left. You can see an updown face & hand. On the right is Baby A's tummy, two legs, & boy parts!! :)

This is Baby B facing down with legs bent & feet in the air. Baby A's head & my ribs were in the way of a better view.

17 week belly picture

I am in love...

...with this stroller!! Michael & I took a short trip to Tulsa this weekend mainly to do some maternity clothes shopping. I just can't bring myself to pay full price for clothes that I can only wear for 9 months or less! So off to the consignment shops we went! I always seem to find at least one pair of long maternity pants each time I go to this particular shop, so it is a must-stop whenever we are in the area! We hit up some great baby stores while we were there & got to try out this stroller that I have been watching online for some time now. Don't get me wrong...it is big, but it is so easy to move around & turn. I fell in love with it! Do any of you twin mamas out there have this?? Or what are your recommendations for a good, easy to manuever twin stroller?

I am not quite sure what color...they have a range of colors (see here), but I am loving the lime green & brown! Can I have your opinions? Once I know what I am having, it might be easier to decide. However, I want to get something for either boy or girl even if I have the same sex, I would still like to be able to use it with any future babies :)!

Speaking of finding out the sexes...Adrienne, gave me the name of a place in Siloam Springs that does ultrasounds for free. They are actually teaching students how to do ultrasounds. As you all know from a recent post, I am dying to know what I am having & won't be having another ultrasound until Sept 9th. So I decided to call them to see if they could get me in. They told me that their class was actually over, but they didn't get a chance to see a twin pregnancy. She was going to get everyone back from the class on this Friday, Aug 15th to see my twins. I am so excited & hoping they will be able to tell me! Adrienne found out a week or two ago that she was having a boy & she is a day or two behind me, so there is hope!!!

17 weeks - two onions

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints.

16 week appointment

I am a little disappointed in my appointment yesterday afternoon! I should be ashamed of myself...the babies are great & I am feeling great, but I am still a little down. First of all, we met with the dr. and all is well there. We heard the heartbeats...one was 140 & one was 160! I think I could hear the heartbeats a million times & still get a huge grin on my face every time. I then had blood drawn for the Down Syndrome testing & then we were off to peek at the babies! I was so excited! First & foremost, I wanted to make sure the babies were still looking good, but I also wanted to find out the sex of our babies. I hear of all these girls that are at the same stage in their pregnancy or a little behind finding out & me being the impatient person that I am...wanted to know too!!! I am so ready to purchase cribs and bedding and clothes! I haven't bought one thing yet just because I don't want to be taking stuff back to the store & my guess at what we are having changes daily!!! But I guess my thought on peeking at the babies & the ultrasound techs thought of peeking at the babies were two different things. She made sure they were moving okay & the fluid levels were okay & then started wiping all the jelly off my big belly! I asked if we could just 'try' to see the sexes & she wouldn't even attempt. She said all babies look like boys at this point. I was so upset...I got my hopes up for nothing!! Then on top of that, I find out that we have to wait 5 more weeks for our next ultrasound! 5 MORE WEEKS!!!! That is going to feel like eternity! I am sorry for all this ranting & please don't get me wrong. I thank God everyday for these babies & for an easy pregnancy so far! I am such a planner & I just want to start decorating a nursery for these sweet babies!

Here are some pictures we got today:

A Blogger Award!

Look what I won! What an honor! My blogger friend, Lianna, gave me this award on her blog. She left me a sweet comment a couple of weeks ago on my blog and I have checked her blog daily since. She has struggled with infertility also, & her attitude is so inspiring! I know how easy it could be to give up after so many unsuccessful attempts at trying to get pregnant, but she is such a strong christian! I know God will bless her one day very soon with a baby or two of her own! Please visit her blog & pray for her & her husband!

I am so honored that Lianna chose me for this award & I want to share my excitement with a few recipients of my own!

  • Jennifer, is about to be a mommy tomorrow! I met Jennifer through a friend from church. She has struggled with infertility for several years, & was successful with IVF #1. Caroline Addison is going to make her grand appearance tomorrow!!! Good Luck Jen!!
  • Krysta, is another IVF friend. Although I have never met her, I have really enjoyed reading her blog. She is in the middle of her IVF cycle right now! Her embryo transfer is today & I wish her all the luck in the world!
  • Jenna, is another blog I really enjoy reading! We share the same due date! She is such a sweetie & hope she has a happy & healthy remainder of her pregnancy!!

16 weeks - two avocados

Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.

According to babycenter.com, this is what our babies look like this week! It is just hard for me to imagine, two babies the size of avocados in there! I still haven't felt them move, but am hoping it is going to be any day now! My belly is growing more & more everyday! My sister took some 16 week belly pics this afternoon & I will post them as soon as I get them! I am feeling great & I go on Tuesday to the doctor! I am so excited...they said we might can 'peek' at the babies & maybe see the sexes!!!!!!
