Our Busy Birthday!

Cooper & Hadley had such a good, but busy day yesterday! Michael went into work a little late so that we could take them out to breakfast at Calico County. They did great & actually entertained an older couple sitting next to us! It was our first time to order off the menu for the babies! They shared a pancake & scrambled eggs! They loved it & so did we! I just had a warm, fuzzy feeling all day just thinking about what a difference a year makes!!! We are so lucky!

Daddy went on to work & we went home for our morning nap. Once we napped & ate lunch, we headed over to BeBe's house for our Christmas Card photo shoot...nothing like waiting until the last minute!!! I usually have our cards already in the mail by this time...things change once you have kids...there are so many more things to think out!!! Oh well, they will be out before Christmas...I hope!! I'll post pictures at a later date once we decide on which ones we are using!! :)

We then came home to take our afternoon nap. By the time they woke up, Daddy was home from work & we headed out to the mall to see Santa for the first time & to get our picture made! They actually did really good...Hadley wasn't quite sure what to think, but Cooper kept looking up at him & smiling! We then shopped for a few Christmas gifts, & then stopped to eat dinner while we were there! Here is our best shot with Santa!!!

Busy, but memorable day!!! I still can't believe they are one! We are having a party at our house tonight with just our family! I will hopefully post pictures tomorrow!

Reminiscing....

Can you believe this was a year ago....it seems like yesterday!!

To Cooper & Hadley on your 1st Birthday...

Dear Cooper Thomas & Hadley Owen,
Today you are turning one year old. How did this year pass so fast and how can you possibly already be a whole 365 days old??? What a year it has been!!!

Finding out I was pregnant, was one of the most memorable days of my life...only to be topped by they day you were born. Giving birth to you both with your Daddy by my side was simply a miracle. I can't express the joy we had meeting you for the first time! I vividly remember that cold December evening when you both made your grand entrance into this world! It seems like yesterday!

This year has brought so many firsts...from the first smiles, first coos, first laughs, first teeth, sitting up for the first time, crawling for the first time, first words, first steps....and not one has been any less exciting than the last! It seemed like with each passing day you were both learning something new and changing so fast! And I know so many more 'firsts' lay in your future & I look forward to each and every one of them!

As your birthday has been approaching, I have been reminiscing about the past year & remembering how tiny & fragile you were. It makes me sad to think about how quickly you have grown in one year, and I have been trying to etch every little detail of you into my mind so that I can remember this age forever! I have been holding you tighter, & rocking you longer, kissing & smelling your sweet smells more often! I know that you won't understand till one day you have a baby of your own, but I love you both more than words will express! And know that I am, and always will be, so proud to be your Mommy!

I love you sweet babies and Happy 1st Birthday!
With all my love,
Mommy

And just for fun...a little slideshow of their 1st Year in Froggy Pictures!!!

Christmas Party 2009

Last night Michael & I attended our company Christmas Party. We had a great time visiting with friends & family! It brought back so many memories from last year...see HERE. I attended last year's party after either being in the hospital or on bed rest for the past three weeks, only to go into labor the next day & deliver Cooper & Hadley the following evening! I just remember being so happy to be out of the house! I am just glad this year I won't be delivering in babies in the near future!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

We've almost made it...

...past the first year with twins!

Wow...what an accomplishment! It actually hasn't been as hard as I envisioned it to be when we first found out we were having twins. I was terrified inside not knowing if we could handle it! Don't get me wrong...we have tough days, but overall Cooper & Hadley's first year of life has been wonderful! They learn new things all the time and I, too, have learned many things this past year!

I have learned that I can love like I never knew was possible!! It's just hard to explain unless you have a child of your own!!! I have learned that I love my husband more & more everyday for being such a wonderful Daddy! I have learned that every baby is different & there are not right & wrong ways to do certain things!! I have learned that I can function on a lot less sleep than I originally thought! I have learned that both ends of a diaper sometimes look very similar...especially in the dark! I have learned that laundry, dishes, & clutter will still be there when the babies are asleep! I have learned that there can never be enough Dt. Coke in my fridge! I have learned what wonderful 'willing to help at anytime' family I have (which I already knew this!) I have learned that there are good days and bad days, & then there are GREAT days...thankfully the GREAT days far outnumber the bad days!!! I have learned to take joy in the small things in life! And I have learned to thank God everyday for wonderful blessings he has given me!

And you know how I hate to make a post with out some pictures! Here are our cuties today!

Random Picture Post

With two of my nieces' BDs, Thanksgiving, birthday planning, christmas shopping, & taking care of two babies....I feel so behind & overwhelmed with blogging lately...so I am doing a random picture post to show you some of my recent favorite photos! ENJOY! Only 4 more days till the big 1st BD!! {sniff, sniff!!}

Our BIG boy!!!
Lovin' some Yo Gabba Gabba!!
Sharing their morning bottle in Cooper's crib
Their first entirely 'big kid' meal...macaroni and cheese, carrots, & peaches! Yes this was lunch & we were all still in our PJs! I love those days!!!!
Is it me, or are they looking more & more alike these days???
Their favorite thing to do...pull every single book off of the shelf!!!
Sleepy eyes!
Hadley showing off her walking skills! She is getting braver each & every day!

Wipes Recipe!

I have been meaning to share this homemade wipes recipe with you all for a while now, but have been so busy lately....as you can probably tell by my lack of blogging lately!! These are very simple to make & I love them!

First off, take a new roll of paper towels and cut in half with a serrated knife. This is the hardest part of the whole thing...just keep rotating the roll until you get to the cardboard center and then tear apart.
Place half of roll in a Tupperware container and store the other half until the next batch.
The only other thing you will need is 2 cups water, 2 T baby oil, & 2 T baby wash. You don't have to have lavender scent....I actually like the original Johnson & Johnson baby wash and original baby oil the best, I just had these in my cabinet and wanted to use them up first.
Heat the water up in the microwave for a couple of minutes & add the wash & oil and stir together.
Pour the mixture evenly over the paper towels.
Grab the end of the cardboard center & it should pull out easily since it is wet.
Let set for a while before use, but pull from center to use....ENJOY!
I keep these by C&H's highchair for cleanups after mealtime...they work great for this or diaper changes! Please let me know if you try these & whether you like them or not!!!
