I'm BACK...but just for today!!

Well, it's been a long week without my computer. I did get it back yesterday, but the problem isn't fixed just yet. They were unable to fix it in the store, & I will be shipping it off to APPLE tomorrow & will hopefully get it back within a week. It is just so frustrating. I wanted to get caught up on my blogging today while I had my computer before I ship it off tomorrow, so check out the next 6 posts that I have done today! I hope everyone had a great week!!

Sad Day

Yesterday was a very sad day for our family. We lost one of our dogs to the extreme heat & one of our other dogs is still at the vets office & we aren't sure if he is going to make it. Drake was Michael & I's first dog together. He was such a sweet dog that we loved very much. Some of you that don't have pets may think I am crazy, but losing a pet you have had for years is heart wrenching. This is the second dog we have lost in 3 years, and it is so hard. When Michael came home yesterday, Rudy was walking around but he noticed Drake wouldn't get up. Drake was barely breathing and wouldn't move. By the time, he got the truck to the barn, he was gone & he noticed Rudy wasn't acting right either. He had laid down & wasn't moving either. He threw Rudy in the truck & rushed to the vet. They said most dogs don't make it if their temperature is above 106...his was 108. He is fighting so hard....please pray for him & our family. This has been really tough on Michael & I...and please pray for a full recovery!

Cooper & Hadley's Baptism

Not only was last Sunday Father's Day, it was also the first day that our church was in our new location. We decided since it was such an exciting day for our family & our church family, that we would have the babies dedicated to the Lord & baptized. It was such a special day for us to be able to dedicate our babies whom we had prayed for for so long. I pray every day that He will continue to give us the wisdom & insight to raise our children in a Christian home & to show them as they grow up how He works in our lives each & every day. I wanted to thank our family for being their with us to share this experience with & to Pastor Ben for doing their Christening ceremony. It was just a perfect day! 

Happy First Father's Day!!

From the day the babies were born till today & everyday in between...you have been there for me! I thank you for that! You are the best Daddy I could have ever imagined for our children. Thank you for your strength, perserverance, & dedication to our family! I hope you had a wonderful first Father's Day & I look forward to many, many more! Cooper & Hadley are so lucky to have you in their lives! We love you so much!!

Happy Late Birthday Daddy!

Last Friday (Juneteenth), was my Daddy's birthday! We took him out to dinner at our favorite place in town, Rolando's!! We had a great time & Daddy, I hope you had a wonderful birthday! I love you so much! So sorry this is late!! Here are a few pics from dinner that my sister took!

Hadley's First 'Real' Bow

Hadley wore her first 'real' bow the other day. When I say 'real', I mean without a headband...just the bow in her hair. She has just enough for the alligator clips to grab now, but her hair is so fine they would just slip right out. I read somewhere about a little secret to keep bows in...and it has worked like a charm! Look at this precious thing...

Here is the secret:

Yep...your reading it right....it's shelf liner! You know, the kind of foamy type. I just cut a narrow strip the length of the alligator clip & glued it on & VOILA!!! Works like a charm!

Our 6 month Stats

Cooper & Hadley had their 6 month checkup on Thursday, June 18, 2009. Dr. Fred said they were doing great & was pleased with their development. Here are their stats:

COOPER:

Weight: 18 lbs 1 oz (90%)

Length: 27 in (90-95%)

Head Circum: 17 1/2 in (90%)

HADLEY:

Weight: 16 lbs 10 oz (90-95%)

Length: 27 in (>95%)

Head Circum: 16 3/4 in (75%)

Mystery Solved!

For the past couple of days, I have been baffled at how Cooper's pacifiers have come to look like this. The design has been scratched off & the knob of the pacifier is very rough as if it has been rubbed on concrete. I could not imagine what Cooper was rubbing his pacis on the get them like this. I caught him in the act on the way home from Hot Springs yesterday. I sat in the backseat to entertain the babies. The culprit: those two teeth!! Both babies love taking out their pacis now & Cooper can't seem to get his back in his mouth correctly & loves to rub those teeth on the knob of the paci...silly boy!

I was looking back at pictures from last week & saw these. I didn't realize at the time what he was doing, but here is proof! What a little stinker!!!

Protecting Your Blog

Recently, on the 'Multiples & More' Blog they posted about protecting your blog & your children. I started this entry a while back, but never finished it. I really wanted to start watermarking my pictures & realized that I had never posted this. I know most of my readers don't have multiples & probably don't read the Multiples blog, so I wanted to pass this helpful info along to all of you! Here is their post (I changed the pic to my own):

Protecting Your Blog

While our blogs are certainly a great way to stay connected with family and friends, there is definitely an ugly side to freely sharing our photos and information on the internet. More and more we are learning of individuals who are stealing photos and posts from others' blogs and passing them off as their own, and this is only the beginning of what can be done when the wrong person gets a hold of your information. It's a scary thought, isn't it? Our intent today is not to scare anyone away from blogging, but to provide some ways that we can all continue to do so with a little more peace of mind. There are several things that you can do to help keep your information safe:

• Watermark your images using photoediting software. If you don't have PhotoShop or PrintShop, you can use Picnik, a free program online to add a personal label to each photo which marks it as your own, either with your name or website, or other trademark.

• Monitor your blog with Copyscape, a free service which allows you to find out if your content is being copied anywhere else on the internet. You can add a Copyscape button to your blog which links to the site, and lets potential copycats know that you are actively monitoring your blog.
  

• Copyright your blog with a free service such as MyFreeCopyright.com. This site also gives you a banner to place on your blog to let people know that you are taking steps to protect your content.

• Disable the right-click function on your blog to deter would-be imposters from taking your photos. The following link will point you to directions on how to disable the right-click function on you blog: Hypergurl.com

• Consider carefully what details you include on your blog. Write about your outings AFTER they are done, so as not to announce to the world when you and your children will be out, leaving your home vacant. It is fairly easy to obtain an address on the internet. Don't announce exact times and places where you will be going with your kids, especially if you'll be the only adult!

• Be cautious of people who contact you through your blog, and what information you give to them. While 99.9% are other moms/dads just like you and have the best of intentions, it is wise to be guard your personal information until you know for sure that you truly know someone.
