15 weeks - two oranges

Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming & wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements.

14 week belly picture & dr. appt

Here is a pic of me this morning at 14w1d. I feel like my belly has exploded!!
I had a pretty rough weekend. Starting Saturday afternoon throughout Sunday night, I was absolutely miserable with what I think is gas pains. It got so bad, I almost asked Michael to take me to the ER. I would take gas medicine & it would help for like an hour & then I was in pain again! I couldn't even go to church on Sunday because I was in so much pain. I have been feeling better this morning, but called the dr. anyways to see if there is anything else I could do if this happened again. My nurse talked with Dr. Laws & he wants to see me this afternoon to do a scan to see if everything is alright. I really think it was just gas & everything is fine, but 'better safe than sorry'!!! I will update my blog this afternoon!

--UPDATE--
Everything is fine with the babies. They were both measuring & moving normally! Wow...they have grown so much...ultrasound tech said they are about 3" from head to butt. Heartbeats were 146 & 154! They said it was either bad gas or my gallbladder acting up. He said that where I am describing the pain it could easily be my gallbladder, but since the pain has gone away, we will just assume it was gas for now. If the problem continues, they will do a more extensive look at my gallbladder. He said gallbladder issues were very common in pregnant women. I go back on August 5th for my next appointment! Hopefully two weeks after that we can find out what sexes we have growing in there!!! I can't wait!

14 weeks - Two little lemons

Your adorable little babies are busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.

New Feature

I have recently figured out a new feature that blogger is offering. It is called the 'blog list'. Everyday, I go down my favorite links list to see who has posted something new. With this new feature, blogger tells you which blogs have been posted last without having to go to each blog! It's great! I have added a few blogs that I check daily that haven't been on my list before. Also, there are several blogs that I left in 'my favorite links' that it won't let me add to the blog list. It tells me these sites don't have URL associated with them??? If anyone knows what I am doing wrong, please let me know! I would like to get everyone on my blog list! It is so much easier to check for updates!!!

My Mom & Pogee

Since I found out I was pregnant, my mom & Pogee (my grandmother) have been knitting away for things for the babies! I just wanted to share with you all some of the stuff they have knitted so far. I have known about Pogee's knitting abilities my whole life...my wardrobe growing up consisted mainly of sweaters that she knitted. She is amazing! My mom on the other hand, has really impressed me with what she can do. And she gets better with every piece she knits!! Thank you both...it means so much to me! I can't wait to see my babies in the sweaters, hats, & booties!!!

Here is a sweater I just recieved from Pogee!! How cute is that?? I love the cream!! This is obviously not a real baby...this is Emmie...my favorite doll as a child!!!
Another shot!! I sure wish I could knit like that!
And here is a sample of a hat my mom knitted a while back!
Just a sample of some that she has knitted! She has knitted two kinds of booties, two bonnets, & two sweaters...I believe! I just don't have pics of them yet!! That can be another post!!!

And I want to end this post with some cute pictures of my nieces, Annie Kate & Turner Grace. They came & spent the night at our house on Saturday night & we had so much fun! After dinner, we were sitting out on the back porch eating snowcones in their swimsuits when the sprinkler system suddenly came on! They were so pumped!! Man, does Uncle Michael know how to read minds or what??

Week 13 - Peaches

Your fetus' are forming teeth and vocal cords... savor this, their non-functional phase. Babies are approaching normal proportions, with heads now only one third the size of their bodies. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to babies' tummy.

4th of July trip to Dallas!!

We just got back from our trip to Dallas! We took my oldest niece & nephew, Addison & Drew. I have never seen them so excited in my life!! They really shocked me by riding pretty much everything!!! It really sucked that I couldn't ride anything, but watching them get so excited was so worth it!! Fun times, great food, & everlasting memories!!!

SECOND TRIMESTER...HERE I COME!!!!!!!!

As you move into the second trimester, babies shift into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of babies' systems are fully formed.

Today's Appt 7-1-08

Just a quick update on today's appointment. Overall, it went great! It was so good to see Dr. Laws & his nurse again!! I got alot of my questions answered & was very reassured on alot of things! We got to hear both heartbeats, but no ultrasound. I was so hoping for one! As we were walking out the door, Michael said 'man, going to Tulsa spoiled us'. We are so used to having an ultrasound every week, so we have to get used to the norm!! All is good...thank you God!!! I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July holiday!!! We are taking our oldest niece & nephew to Dallas to go to Six Flags & Hurricane Harbor! It should be lots of fun!!!
