Our Trip to South Arkansas!

For those of you whose husbands are hunters, you know that it's deer season! My hubby looks forward to this week all year long--a week in the woods...away from everyday life...doing what he loves! Since I wasn't working this year, the babies & I decided to tag along. We left last Friday for my hubby's family's land in South Arkansas. The plans were to stay until this coming Sunday, but by Wednesday afternoon...I was going stir crazy!! I decided that if I was going to travel 4 hours with the babies & myself, that I would have to travel during their bedtime. So that is exactly what we did...we packed up & headed for home around 6 Wednesday night & arrived home with very minimal fussing from C&H! I was very nervous, but pleased on how the ride home turned out & I was so glad to be in my own bed last night...so were C&H--they slept great! Michael has killed 2 doe...hopefully he will kill two more before Sunday so that he can come home too! Here are a few shots we took one evening before the cold front came through!
One highlight from the trip was getting to see my blogging buddy, Megan & meet her new twins, Mallory & Brody! I used to stay with my grandparents every summer while growing up. I actually met Megan a long time ago while attending my Pogee's church on one of my many visits. I came across her blog a couple of years ago and recognized her. We talked and figured out how I knew her...she since got pregnant and delivered twins who are almost 3 months old. They are the cutest little things and made me really miss my newborns! I didn't get to love on them like I wanted to because we were chasing my two little ones who were into everything! I think she got a good glimpse of what her life is going to be like in a few short months!!! It was pretty much impossible to get a picture of all four babies...C&H were not having it! And I didn't even get a picture of Megan :( Hopefully we can get together again soon and visit a little longer!! It was so good to see you again Megan after all these years!!

Our First Playdate!

We had our first playdate with another set of twins today & it was so much fun! We met Polly, her Nanny, Angela, & her sweet boys Sam & Walker at the park for a little fun! We will definately be meeting up more often in the future! We should have worn a precious turkey shirts & we would of had 4 little turkeys running/crawling around the park!! HAHA

I snapped a few pics before S&W got there! They were so excited to meet some new friends!
And they loved spinning the handles on this riding toy!
Checking each other out!
Cooper kept crawling away by himself, but Hadley was really into her new friends!
Trying to get a good group shot...yeah right!
Hadley & Walker (I believe, I can't tell them apart quite yet) trying to get each other through the window!
S&W wanting the same piece of mulch!
Again...not sure who this is...Sam?? Sorry Polly!

The afternoon ended with my two kiddos having a slight meltdown...It was getting close to naptime & they let Mommy know it was time to go!! Thanks again Polly & I really look forward to getting together again soon!

I am taking a little blogging break for the next week! I will be away from the computer till next weekend probably...hope you all have a great week!!

11 month Update!

During my recent post when the babies turned 11 months old, I forgot to mention what the babies have been saying lately and I wanted to document it on here for the future! Sorry about the out of sequence posts!!

Cooper
*says DaDa all the time
*one day last week he raised his arms to me & said MaMa

Hadley
*says MaMa & DaDa all the time now
*the other day I was carrying her through the living room where Michael was watching TV...she got all excited & said 'Hi DaDa' very clearly! Michael & I both about passed out!
*As you can imagine, we have pictures of C&H throughout our house...everytime Hadley sees one of their pictures, she says 'Hi Baby'.
*she is also into pointing to our eyes, noses, & mouths...we have been saying whatever she is pointing at & recently started saying 'eye' when she points to our eye.

Cooper's Learned to Clap!

Just recently Cooper learned how to clap just like his sister! I finally got it on video
this morning during their breakfast! Dont' you just love Hadley's bedhead!!! Sweet babies!

11 months old!!!

Like I have said in the months past, I CANNOT believe our babies are 11 months old! It makes me sad & happy at the very same time! On one hand, I am so sad that in 30 short days, I won't have babies anymore...they are going to be toddlers!! Oh how I miss those tiny newborns we brought home from the hospital last December! But on the other hand, each day gets more & more exciting watching them grow into their own being & getting to know their personalities more & more! It is amazing what a child at one year of age picks up...they are like sponges & I love to see C&H learn something new every.single.day!
I decided since the laying down froggy shot is absolutely impossible these day that I would just try & stand the froggy up!
Cooper at 11 months:
*you have 8 teeth (4 top & 4 bottom)
*you are wearing size 4 diapers
*you are into everything...you have perfected crawling & have gotten extremely fast
*you have finally learned how to pull up on your own & are doing it more & more each day
*you have 3-9oz bottles a day & occasionally one at night when needed
*you also have 3 solid meals a day...you are eating stage 3 fruits, veges, & meats
*you also love madarin oranges, diced peaches, saltines, mum mums, diced cheese
*you love for Mommy to sing to you & to tickle your back

And of course Hadley wanted nothing to do with standing next to the froggy...she was too interested in her brother's blue blankie!! This was as good as I could get!!
Hadley at 11 months:
*you have 4 teeth (2 top & 2 bottom)
*you are wearing size 4 diapers
*you are into everything...you know exactly where you're not supposed to be & you love to test your boundaries
*You have learned what No-No means and sometimes get your feelings hurt when Mommy tells you No-No, however you think it's funny when Daddy tells you No-No!
*you have 3-9oz bottles a day & occasionally one at night when needed
*you also have 3 solid meals a day...you are eating stage 3 fruits, veges, & meats
*you also love madarin oranges, diced peaches, saltines, mum mums, diced cheese
*you love for Mommy to sing to you
*you are cruising along furniture really good and are standing unassisted quite often
*you have become quite attached to Mommy...you have to be in my lap or crawling all over me if I am in your sight

Cooper & Hadley,
You are both such joys! Mommy & Daddy love you so much
& are so blessed to have you as our children. We love you!
Happy 11 months!!!
Mommy & Daddy

I ❤ Christmas!!!

Well, it smells like Christmas, & it sounds like Christmas, & it looks like Christmas around our house already!! We didn't decorate at all last year because of the babies arrival & we knew we would have probably had decorations up until March if we did....so we are extremely ready for Christmas this year! We are going to enjoy it as long as we can!!! This is my favorite time of the year & now we have a new special day in December that makes it even more exciting than in years past!! Enjoy!

Our Two Turkeys!!!

My friend, Heather, who was also one of C&H's wonderful NICU nurses last year, made the babies these precious turkey shirts!!! Isn't she good...I told her she needs to start an etsy shop...she would do great!! She is working on C&H's 1st birthday shirts also...I can't wait to see the final thing, but you'll have to wait until the big party!!! Until then, enjoy the cutest turkeys around!!! Thank you so much Heather!!!!

Watching Daddy Grill!

Ever since C&H have been born Michael & I have had a deal that he would cook our dinner every night, if I would clean the kitchen! He is a MUCH better cook than I so it works out great! We usually just switch off after dinner & he takes over with C&H and I attend to the big mess he has just created in the kitchen {wink!!} He was so kind today to let me get away for a while to go to some Holiday Open Houses around town and I returned home to him getting ready to grill burgers...he even made homemade hamburger buns....simply delicious!!! Thank you Baby for planning, preparing, & cooking our dinner every night...I always look forward to what new recipe you plan to try!! I snapped a few pics while we played on the porch while Daddy got the grill ready outside!
