Destin-Day 2

Day 2 was our first day on the beach! We were all so excited to finally get down to the beach and enjoy it...even Miss Ella LOVED it! We played on the beach, walked down the beach to a restaurant and had lunch, and then played some more before heading in for naps and to get ready for dinner. Hadley and Ella matched that night for dinner, so we just had to snap a few pics of them before dinner. They could be sisters, couldn't they?? We went to Fudpuckers for dinner that night. The food was just ok, but the entertainment for the kids was awesome! They had a balloon guy coming around to each table to make the kids something and then they got to hold an alligator and feed them too! They LOVED it! Here are some pics from our day!

Destin-Day 1

Last Wednesday, September 7th, we headed out for Destin, FL with Michael's sister, Mary (MoMo) and her family! We had been looking forward to this beach trip all summer and had a scare the week before we were supposed to leave with all the hurricanes and tropical storms. We thought we might have rain all week, but the weather was AMAZING...highs in the 80's and sunny!

We packed up the plane the night before we left so that we would have less to do once we got to the airport on Wednesday. Cooper and Hadley were bouncing off the walls with excitement to get to the beach!

We ate a little breakfast and watched some cartoons while waiting on Daddy to get everything ready for the flight!
Our flight was a little under 3 hours. Overall, C&H did good! They had a few meltdowns, but just couldn't wait to get to the beach! We stayed busy by coloring and playing with stickers and putting on the headsets!

We got check into the condo and went and picked up the Beshears' a couple of hours later. This little cutie had a rough time on the plane rides but was an ANGEL the whole time they were here! She LOVED the sand!

We all got ready and headed out to the Back Porch for a YUMMY dinner!

After dinner, we let the kids play on the playground for a bit and then walked down to the water! Before I knew it, both of our kids were wet from the neck down! They just couldn't wait to get in the ocean (or lake as Cooper called it at first!)

We got the kids stripped from their wet clothes and headed down to the beach to 'crab hunt'! We didn't see one single crab, but we all had fun! Look at that gorgeous sunset!

Meet the Teacher 2011-2012

This morning was "Meet the Teacher" at C&H's school. Even though they went to the summer program and actually 'know' the teachers, we decided to go anyways. Hadley asks pretty much everyday if she can go to school today and is totally devastated when I say, 'school isn't open today'. So I knew they would be so excited! It is amazing how much they have changed since this time last year! I remember them both having total meltdowns last year because they weren't getting to stay at school without Mommy! This year I had a little talk with them before we went in and told them that they wouldn't be eating lunch at school, or napping at school today. That we were gonna go play for a little while and see their teachers and friends and then leave and that they couldn't throw a fit or we wouldn't be allowed to come back! (haha, you gotta do what you gotta do!!) Well, it worked like a charm! They whined a little bit, but I reminded them what we talked about and all was good! I just bragged on them and what big kids they have become and we even went and got a slushie since they did so good! We are all so excited about this year and all they get to do! Just look at our BIG kids! I must say...they were two of the cutest kids there! ;)

Say What? Wednesday

Cooper has recently started this thing when it's time to eat he starts fussing and saying, "I not eat!", or "I not hungry", when good and well I know he has to be hungry! We always make him sit at the table and sure enough he eventually eats. The other day at lunch he was being very stubborn and not giving in, so I sat down beside him and proceeded to tell him that he has to eat to grow big and strong like Daddy. And then I asked if he wanted to grow up big like Daddy someday, and he got this funny look on his face and said, "no, Daddy be sad if I grow up"! We always joke and them about not growing up so fast and that we are sad they are getting so big! It's crazy funny how literal kids are!

Hadley has really started playing with her barbies lately! It is the cutest thing until she brings me a barbie every 5 minutes ALL DAY long to put their shoes back on! I finally got sick of putting those shoes on, so I started showing her how to do it. I said it's not hard...you do it like this and proceeded to show her. She said, "I can't do it Mama...my hands are too small". Silly girl...it's easier with smaller hands! I then started supergluing shoes on barbies! :0
