Our Night Away!

Last weekend, Michael & I got to enjoy our second night away from C&H! As much as we missed them, we were really in need of a little time to ourselves! We met up with some friends from college for one of their 30th birthdays, did a little shopping, & ate some good food! It was so great to see our friends that we don't see often enough! Thanks again Mom & Dad for watching C&H for us!

The BIG 3-0!!!

Well the day has finally come & I guess it's not so bad! I still can't believe I am 30 years old...it just sounds so old!!! Here I am with C&H first thing this morning....no better place to be on my birthday than here at home with them!!! Thank you all for the birthday wishes!!

We ❤ our bus!

C&H got this bus for Christmas & absolutely love to 'ride' in it! They will get in there & sit & watch TV or fill their lap with balls! I love seeing their little imaginations already working overtime!!!

Only one more day in my 20s!!! I am actually getting excited about being 30 now!

Nana's Booties

How cute are these?? My Mom, (aka..Nana to C&H), knitted these when the babies were tiny & they are just now fitting Miss Hadley! I love them & will cherish these always! Thanks Nana!

Yesterday...

Wow...what a day yesterday was!

It was a day of firsts, that is for sure! First of all, it was C&H's first day to only have one nap. For the past two weeks, Hadley has refused to nap in the afternoon & I must say she hasn't been all that fussy during the evening and several days last week, Cooper was refusing also. So much to my dislike, we are in the process of changing our schedule to one nap a day. Normally, they napped at 10 and 3. So yesterday, I decided to see how long they could make it after 10 till they had a melt down. I was hoping to at least make it till 11, but at 10:45 I had had enough & put them down for a nap. They slept the normal 1.5-2 hours. They were a little crankier than normal last night, but went down without a peep last night! Today, we made it to 11:10 before having a meltdown and they are sleeping as I type! I think we will just keep pushing it back gradually and hopefully we can get it to around 12 or 1 before they go down!

The other two first yesterday involve POOP! Isn't it crazy when you have kids, talking about poop is like an everyday occurrence?? Anyways, we had our first MAJOR blowout...I am talking MAJOR...imagine poop everywhere!!! We were in the playroom playing & I began to smell a dirty diaper and the smell got really intense really quick. I thought to myself that this wasn't any normal dirty diaper smell, so off to get diapers & wipes! I grabbed Hadley first since I had changed one of Cooper's dirty diapers like an hour earlier. I pulled off her diaper, & no poop. So I grabbed Cooper and OMG!!! First off, during diaper changes, bath time, etc lately all he wants to do is pull, tug, and feel around down there...is this normal for little boys??? So as soon as I take off his diaper, I notice major diarrhea & Coop's hand goes straight for it! So I am trying to hold his feet & his dirty hand and I dropped one of his feet & it goes right in the poop. So here we are, he's got poop on his hand & now all over his foot. Then I notice it all up his back & all on the carpet now....NICE!!! So I go to grab the wipes that were sitting next to me when I took his diaper off. Hadley has since grabbed the wipes and is proceeding to take out each wipe one by one....I have to wrestle with her with my one free hand to get the wipes back so that I can clean up our huge mess! Hopefully, no more blowouts anytime soon!!!!

On to our other poop story from yesterday! Last night was bath night...you probably all know where this is headed, right?? Well, I have started bringing PJs, lotion, diapers, etc into the bathroom with me when I bathe C&H instead of trying to get two wet babies to their room to get them dressed. That way I can get one baby out of the bath and let the other one play while I get the other dressed. So I got Coop out first last night & as I was zipping up his PJs, Hadley was standing up in the tub and I noticed her grunting. By the time I realized what she was doing, she pooped in the bathtub...oh the joys of parenthood!!! LOL I snatched her out of the tub as quick as I could...thank goodness they were already clean!

What a day, but we survived!!!

Pogee's Birthday!

Well, I am finally done with my work project, finally caught up on the 15 loads of laundry, & finally am ready to get this blog caught up! I hate feeling like I have so much to blog about, but not knowing where to even start! I am so far behind, but I'll start with Pogee's birthday and work my way forward!!

The night before her actual birthday, we all took her out to Doe's for a steak dinner! We had a great time celebrating a great woman!!!

The Birthday Girl!!!! Doesn't she look amazing for 90 years old???

On her actually birthday we through her a huge party at Butterfield Place where she lives. You could tell how many lives she has touched over the years from the amount of people who traveled from all around to share in her special day! It was heartwarming the amount of people who showed up! I am so mad at myself, but between being in charge of keeping the punch bowl filled up & wrangling to little ones, I didn't take one single picture! Hopefully, I can get some from my sis soon!

Cooper is taking steps!

Cooper has finally decided he wants to walk! Everytime lately that I have

held out my hands to him, he would just fall to his knees until today! He

took 2-3 steps several times today & he is so proud of himself! I think

once he gains some confidence and quits falling forward, he will catch

on fast like he did with crawling! He wanted that camera case really

bad!! Go Cooper!

Please hang in there with me...I still have a lot of rearranging to do on my blog and I am so busy, but I promise it will be all finished soon! I feel so behind on my blogging, but I am determined to get caught up! I have busy week ahead of me also! I am trying to enjoy the last 5 days of being in my 20s!!! Next Friday, I will be the BIG 3-0! Not sure why, but I am really dreading this birthday! I am determined to make the best of it! What could be so bad about being 30???

It was 74 degrees here today, so after lunch we hit the park!!

90 years ago....

Today is a very special day! 90 years ago today, my Pogee entered the world...since then she made the world a brighter place. She is such an amazing woman and I am so happy she is my grandmother! I have never met a more outgoing, friendly, or beautiful person than she! She can light up any room as soon as she enters! Happy 90th Birthday Pogee...we love you so much!!!

Big Mess=Lots of Fun!!

I was going through some cabinets last night and found some stuff I had put back that I recieved at the Gerber Mothers-To-Be Banquet that I attended when I was pregnant with C&H!! All the stuff I had set back was for toddlers...I found these Lil' Dippers....they are great for teaching the fundamentals of using utensils!!

So I decided to give them some applesauce to try out their new dippers...C&H didn't quite understand what they were actually for, even after showing them repeatedly, but they have to learn somehow to feed themselves, right??? And they had a blast...that is all that matters!! They just ate it with their fingers and at one point Cooper actually 'drank' the applesauce! Messes are just so much fun and they can only get better at it!!!

Enjoying Mommy's Pear

The other day I was enjoying a pear...and the babies were at my feet begging for a bite. They LOVED it and pretty much gnawed it to the core!

This pear of kiddos also has some exciting news to share!!! They found out this past weekend they are going to have a new cousin in September!!! My SIL & BIL, Mary & Josh, are having a baby and we couldn't be more happy for them!! They are going to be wonderful parents!!

13 Months Old

Today our babies are 13 months old...that just sounds so old!! I swear they become more fun every day...if that is at all possible! I just can't believe they are growing up so fast....some days I sure wish they had come with a pause button...haha!!

Cooper wanted nothing to do with the camera today...I couldn't get him to look at me for anything...I finally got some smiles by tickling & playing peek-a-boo from behind the chair!

COOPER at 13 months:

-you are getting closer to walking...you are letting go more often and showing alot more interest in walking...you are cruising along anything you can!

-you are obsessed with pushing things....your activity table, walking toys, kitchen chairs at your grandparents houses, Pogee's walker....pretty much anything that will move, you like to push!!

-we can always find your fingers either in your ears or your nose!!

-you are definitely ALL BOY! you love to demolish anything...we can see you getting rougher on a daily basis!!!

-you are sleeping great...7:00 pm to 7:00ish am....with two 1 to 2 hours naps daily!

-you will pretty much eat anything that is put in front of you!

-you love your BaBa...you still get 3-9 oz bottles daily

-you are still loving your paci & blue blankie!

-you are the most handsome & cuddliest little boy I know...and your Mommy & Daddy love you very much!

Hadley has become quite the walker & is pretty proud of her new skills!

HADLEY at 13 months:

-you are becoming very good at walking & only crawl when you want something really bad & want to get there quickly! You still haven't gone from a sitting position to standing on your own.

-you are constantly pointing at things and saying either baby or dog-ee...you love Charlie!

-you know exactly what you want, when you want it...I don't think that will EVER change!!

-you are definitely the more aggressive twin when it comes to taking things away from the other, but Cooper is slowly starting to stand up for himself!

-you are very jealous lately...I think since you were sick last week, you think you own my lap and you don't like it when Cooper gets some Mommy-loving time!

-you are sleeping great...7:00 pm to 7:00ish am....with two 1 to 2 hours naps daily!

-you are very inconsistent with your eating....one day you will eat great & the next day refuse to eat a bite....even of stuff we know you love!

-you love your BaBa...you still get 3-9 oz bottles daily

-you are still loving your paci & blankie...you will bury your face in your blankie when it's time to go to bed...so sweet!

-you are the cutest, spunkiest little girl I know & we wouldn't change one thing about you! We love you too!!!
