Monday night around bedtime, Hadley came down with a fever. This is the first time ever that her or Cooper have had fever! I gave her some tylenol and she slept great, but woke up with a fever the next morning. I called our doctor & decided to take her in to be checked out! Everything was fine & he thought the fever might be the beginning of a cold. He said if it gets up to 103 or higher or if the fever isn't gone within a day or two to call back! She had a fever until around 4 yesterday and is finally back to herself today! She was very clingy & cranky and although I enjoyed her snuggle time, I felt so sorry for her! She was miserable! I was so glad to see her playing & smiling last night and today! Cooper has been a trooper & I am praying he doesn't get whatever it is! He was more clingy than normal & wanted in my lap all morning, but so far no fever!! When I was getting PJ's on tonight I noticed a rash all over Hadley's torso. Any ideas on what this could be with 2-3 days of fever & a rash?? Looks like the doctor may be hearing from us again tomorrow morning!! Here is my sick girl yesterday...doesn't she look miserable?? I hate having sick kiddos!!!

Aww..Poor Thing:( When Mist was lil almost everytime she ran a fever she would get a rash. She is 6 now and it still seems to happen a lot with a fever! Hope that sweet baby is feeling back to normal in the morning! Hope your lil man doesn't get it! My sister had twin baby girl July 1st and they both had their 1st colds about a month ago and it was so sad:(
rash with fever is common I think... but can be signs of certain viruses. Poor baby!
yes, it is common for a rash to break out when the fever breaks... especially on the tummy. i hope she is feeling better soon. my hadley was sick with a fever all last weekend, and it was no fun. p.s. love her jammies!
Is it a splotchy kind of rash? Any signs of it on her face? Could be this. Both my boys had it last year around this time. http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/bacterial_viral/fifth.html
Without seeing the rash it's hard to say, but if it spreads all over her body it is more than likely Roseola. You can look it up for all of the info, but my son had it at about 14 months. High fever for up to a week and the full body rash that started on his belly. If that is what it is, nothing to do about it and she will be fine. Exposure happens with fever, so more than likely Cooper will get it too. Good luck! And I hope they feel better soon!
Roseola! It is very common. I am not too sure about contageousness?
I have found with my boys that a rash is common after a fever. I would call the pedi just to ease your mind, but I bet that is all it is. She looks precious, even when sick!
I'm sure it's Roseola. Very common, nothing to worry about. The rash will go away soon and there's nothing to be done about it. My little one had it this summer and the rash was gone in about a week.
Poor thing:(! Did they test her for strep? I think it usually causes a rash?
Bless her heart!
My niece (1 year old) just had a fever and then her fever broke and she broke out in a rash. Her pedi said she had german measels (rubella).

I hope Hadley feels better soon!
oh that's just the saddest picture! it breaks my heart to see sick babies! hope everything is back to normal soon!!
I go with Roseola as well. We use Dr. Fred and EVERY time we've had fever/rash, he has said Roseola. Nothing you can really do and no meds needed, just snuggle!!
The first thing that came to my mind was Roseola....here's a web link with more info for you

Poor Hadley looked so pitiful in the pic. Hope she's back to normal soon and that Coop doesn't get it. The site I listed above said it's not very contagious but that it is transmitted through oral secretions!
Poor sweetheart! I hope she feels better soon. There are lots of viral rashes out there that show up with a fever. My daughter had Roseola right before she turned 1. It's very common and highly contagious!
Roseola! It's a really common childhood illness hallmarked by 2-4 days of moderate fever. Then, about 24 hours after the fever breaks, they get a rash on their torso that sometimes spreads to the face. It's really common, and, though the fever makes a baby feel so yucky, the rash doesn't hurt them at all. Hope sweet Hadley is feeling all better now!
Oh... I thought she would look sleepy or something but it just broke my heart to see her look that sick.... Poor baby. I hope she fights it off fast and Cooper stays well.
Our doc told as well that a rash can often come with a virus. Luke had a nasty one. Hope she feels better soon!
When my daughter was 2, she had a fever of about 103 and it only lasted a few days and then a couple days later she developed a rash. The doctors called it fifth disease. By the time the rash develops it is no longer contagious.
Hope precious Hadley is better soon and that Cooper doesn't get it.
Bless her heart, she looks miserable. Being sick is no fun at all, but having sick babies is heartbreaking. So glad she is feeling better. Hope you all stay well!!!
Mary Kate -
I've been a lurker for a while. Your babies are darling!
You may know by now but I was thinking Roseola as well. Early in the fall my little boy had that as well. Fever on and off for 5 days and then broke out on a rash all over his torso and back. Took him to urgent care and that was what was diagnosed.
I hope she feels much better soon!
My doctor has always said that a rash is the ending of something viral.
Poor girl....she looks so not like herself at all. I hope she is feeling better!!
Bless her heart! Oh she is just so cute...Even when she is sick :)
