Hadley Hates Hair-things!

These pictures depict what Hadley does all day long. I fix her hair and she takes it out!!! She very rarely will keep a bow or barrette in her hair for very long. I have been trying to keep a barrette in her hair to keep it out of her eyes...it's getting so long, but I don't want to cut it!!! No matter how bad it hurts, she will pull at whatever is in her hair until it is out...even if a handful of hair comes with it :( I keep trying to tell her how pretty her hair looks, but that isn't quite working yet! She will put her hands under her chin and fuss for a while & the second I look away, she is back at it!!! Crazy girl!!!

Scarlett does the same thing!! :) I have to make sure she is covered in pink or purple when we go places so people don't constantly ask me if she is a boy. Ha!

I think it's a pretty common stage for most girls to pull things out of their hair. Our foster baby loved to have things in her hair but as soon as she'd get fussy, out they came. It didn't matter what she was fussing for. It was like her own way of putting her foot down. If I can't have that then I'm going to pull my bow out, ha ha!

My friend had bows, head bands, barrettes, clips, etc in her daughters hair from birth and around the same time she started pulling them out, too, and didn't want anything to do with it.

I was envious thinking Hadley liked hairbows, lol guess I was wrong. My little girl won't keep them in, she has her hair done everyday, and she still pulls them out :) I just put them back in.

We have lost countless bows, barrettes, and clips in stores, malls because she will wait till im not looking then drop them out the side of the stroller!

going thru the same thing. and if i put a bow in meryls hair, maggie pulls it out also. so neither one of my girls wear bows. i hope they get over this soon! love me some hair bows!!

I have so many bows and things that I plan to put in my little girl's hair...but most little ones just hate having things clipped in their hair!! We'll have to see how she reacts! :o)

Maybe just around the house you could wear a bow in your hair too to show her how the "big girls" do it. I dunno!! :o)

Aww! My girls don't mess with their own clip, but pull out each others! Guess it's just not meant to be! :)

Man- I was wondering how you did that! I was wondering what I was doing wrong. To be honest, I have been inspired by Hadley's many bows (each picture post), as our Mercy is hard to capture with a bow on- either she or her brother take it off within seconds :-) Glad we're not the only ones.

i have the same battle with my hadley... drives me crazy!!! i don't want to cut bangs, because i want it to grow out. sometimes i can sneak one in, and she'll leave it. she doesn't bother with the "sprout" when i put that in, but it is really getting too long for that. boys hair is so much easier... lol!!!

My kids use to do that as well. It's only since they've been about 3 years old that they started leaving it alone and understand the concept of "a bow".

My Maggie did the same thing. She would keep in the ponytail but she would literally dismantle the bow. Around 17-18 months she began telling me her outfits were cute AND she started asking for a bow to go with her ponytail.
The other thing I tried, was after I fixed her hair and she would reach for the bow, I would ask her to clap! That way she would associate the bow with being excited.
Good luck...she is a cutie!!!

My girls are the same way. Gab would tolerate bows when she was younger, but hasn't been very good about it for the last three months or so. Bums me out! Hopefully they'll start wearing them again soon!

I had the same problem with my daughter, and she still won't leave hair clips in. She now has mighty fine "emo hair", thanks to the front, naturally side swept section slipping out of her ponytails.
