34 weeks

Wow...I have made it to 34 weeks! I really can't believe it after our Thanksgiving week. Since I have come home from the hospital, I have been on an oral medications to keep my contractions away. I have had a few here & there but nothing to alarming. However, this morning was my last dose of medication. I have kind of been on edge all day today hoping that the contractions wouldn't return as soon as I was off of the meds. But so far...so good. I haven't had any contractions today & hopefully they will stay away a little longer. As anxious as I am and as long as I have waited to finally meet my babies, I really hope that they stay in for a little longer. I really want to avoid a NICU stay, but I know if it is needed we have a wonderful NICU & I know the babies will be in great hands. I just pray that Cooper & Hadley will be home with us on Christmas, if not before!! Wouldn't that be wonderful???

Will you have to go to 36 weeks to avoid a NICU stay? Or do you know? I'm not sure with twins.

Congrats on 34 weeks! That is a HUGE accomplishment. I remember being around 34 wks and 4 cm dilated thinking I'd go into full labor at any second. And then I ended up being induced at 38 weeks. Maybe the same will happen for you! Good luck! You are doing great!

Hi MK! I'm so glad everything is going well so far. I can't believe the end is so close- does it seem like a dream, everything you've been through to get to this point? I feel like it would in a weird way. Good luck with the upcoming weeks, and in meeting the other half of your family!

Hello,

I have found your blog on a good friend's site (Michelle and Scott) and have really enjoyed following your entries. I am so happy for you and your hubby and so glad to see you have made it to 34 weeks!!! Yeah!!! My hubby and I have been through a similar journey with the whole IVF process, bedrest, etc., and now we have 2 amazing little boys (twins) and have been blessed with a new little daughter. She was a surprise blessing! :) It's amazing how things work out! :) Our boys just turned 2....it goes by soooo fast! Well, I just wanted you to know how happy I am for you all; your blog has been so inspirational. I've been meaning to write, but it's been busy! :) I wish you and your family the best. You have done so well to get to this point. I will pray for you and your family, and best wishes for you all and Cooper and Hadley!

Happy Holidays,

Lynne

Hi Mary Kate,

It was good to hear from you. I made it to 36 weeks and 2 days (but, who's counting, right?! :)). I went into the hospital at 30 weeks with preterm labor and stayed for 2 weeks. I went home on oral terbutaline and stayed on it until 36 weeks.
At my 36 week appt. my blood pressure had started to go up, so they decided to induce me 2 days later (but, I didn't need much help b/c my contractions kicked up after I stopped the terbutaline--they were coming regardless! :)). They weighed 5lbs 12 oz. and 5lbs 2oz. Cooper and Hadley are going to do great. I can't wait to see pics, but, I know, not yet! :). Best of luck with everything!

Christmas Babies would be perfect. Hope the contractions stay away for a few more weeks. My boys were born at 37w3d and came home 4 days later. I know each baby is different, but 36 weeks or so is a great goal to hit. Congrats for making it this far. Not too much longer. Happy Holidays!
